World Book day is coming up on Thursday 3rd March. World Book Day helps to bring the joy of reading to pupils around the globe.
This year World Book Day is focusing on the following six elements this year:
Our approach incorporates six elements which evidence shows support a child to read for pleasure:
- Being read to regularly
- Access to books at home
- The ability for children to choose what they want to read
- Having trusted adults and peers sharing and recommending books
- The reading experience being enjoyable
- Designated time to read
These 6 elements shape and guide what World Book Day does and all their resources support one of these elements. Explore the resources attached to see what fun reading activities you can share with your children this year. The children will each receive a World Book Day book token for them to be able to purchase a book. These books can normally be found in Asda.
