Safeguarding Resources for families

8th Jun 2020

Safeguarding Colleagues,

In this update we have provided, as requested, as  many of the resources as possible via a web link.   We have a busy update with numerous resources. We hope that you find at least some of them useful to your school and pupils

 General Resources

Firstly, we have the CYPSP pack of resources and activities for all children and young people with  specific resources for children with disabilities, including autism and activities to support children and young people’s mental health. This very comprehensive resource may prove invaluable to both teachers and parents. In addition we have included links to the CYPSP Family Support Hub Newsletter, a fount of useful information

Next, we have provided a link to a seven-day gratitude journal from Ineqe, a tool to use with primary aged pupils, possibly currently at home, as the conversations around the task would benefit parents understanding their children’s sense of well-being.

The penultimate resources 5a and 5b, from Aware, Defeat Depression. 5a is for use by  post primary pupils. It links to 3 great videos on looking after your mental health. 5b is  the Connections Challenge for pupils aged between 6 and 18 and a £20  Amazon voucher is up for grabs.

The final resource is from Parentzone which will assist parents support  their children with eating disorders.     Charity Beat Eating Disorders has had a 50% increase in demand for its helpline service during lockdown so this will prove very valuable for many parents.

Digital Resources

We are all now very aware of our dependence on the digital world and here  are three resources to help you navigate school issues and also offer support to  young people.

NICTNI are offering free help for anyone to resolve digital problems. You may think this would be a useful link to share with for parents.

 Take care of yourselves
