Virtual tour for our prospective P1 children and their families

6th Nov 2020

Normally at this time of the year we organise our Open Day for our new prospective P1 children and their parents. However due to the virus we regretfully cannot go ahead with this special day at this time.

Instead we sent home wee packs to all our families and asked for their help in distributing them to our school community  and to anyone they know who would be P1 age in September 2021.

As outlined by the Department of Education the  Citizen Portal will go-live at 12noon on Thursday 7 January 2021 and remain open until 12noon on Friday 29 January 2021. An application received after 12 noon on 29th January 2021 treated as late. After submitting an application on the Citizen Portal parents will receive a confirmation email. Within 3 days parents will then receive another email with a unique link where they can securely upload their child’s birth certificate and other supporting documents. There will be a back office procedure to associate the uploaded documents with the application. The published admissions criteria of primary schools can be accessed at  https://www.eani.org.uk/

Tuesday 27th April 2021 (Admissions procedure for Primary One closes) Parents receive notification of outcome of P1 applications via Online Portal (opens 28th April). Schools may also choose to notify parents by post, letters for receipt on 28th April 2021. On 28th April the EA notifies parents of children yet to secure a place for their child and asks to nominate further preferences.

Before you make your mind up, please have a look at our Virtual Tour and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Our virtual tour is an informative PowerPoint for our new prospective families to look at to help familiarise them with our school and our staff.

We have a very special school of wonderful children and staff here in Ballycruttle. It really is a small school with a BIG heart. We would appreciate everyone’s help with promoting our school to your family and friends.

Please enjoy some of our boys and girls talking about their favourite things about St Joseph’s. Thanks to all our volunteers for agreeing to talk to the camera about their school. We appreciate it.
