N.I. Anti Bullying forum looking to recruit young people for their Advisory Group

Dear Principal/Teacher,

The Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying forum are currently recruiting for young people to join our Young People’s Advisory Group. We would be very grateful if you could share the information below/attached with your pupils that would be interested in this area, would like to be an advocate for young people and help us shape the work of NIABF and Anti-Bullying Week.

Please see information below and attached including an ‘Expression of Interest’ form and a programme of activity related to the ‘Hearing the Voice of Young People’ project.

 

NIABF are currently recruiting for young people to join our Young Person Advisory Group (YPAG).

 

The purpose of YPAG is to help advise and support the work of the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum (NIABF) which works to end the bullying of children and young people in our schools and in our communities. NIABF is hosted by the National Childrens Bureau (NCB).

Members of YPAG will be children and young people aged 8-18 years, who will meet regularly via the online platform Zoom. There are many exciting opportunities ahead for young people to engage in and play an important role in working to end bullying.

 

Some upcoming opportunities:

 

  1. Join the Anti-Bullying Week ‘21 Young Advisors Team (8-18 years) – Share your thoughts on themes and activities of ABW21 and help to plan our week of activities.

 

  1. Help to plan the ABW21 Creative Arts Competition (8-18 years) – Help to plan our Creative Arts Competition and Celebration Event

 

  1. Join our Hearing the Voices of Young People project (13-18 years) – Help design and produce our ABW20 Poll Findings, plan meetings and events, develop skills to raise the awareness of bullying as an issue, be part of the solution-focused discussions and engage with politicians and decision makers who have the power to make positive change.

 

No experience is necessary and YPAG members will be fully supported to take part by NIABF and NCB staff team. More information will be provided including Zoom dates and consent forms after registration.
