Guidance on Infection Control in schools

2nd Dec 2021

Please see the Poster attached from the Public Health Agency. Please follow the guidelines within this poster in relation to the recommended period to be kept away from school, nursery or childminders. We have had a few recent outbreaks of various illnesses such as tummy bugs. The guidelines stipulate that a child should be kept home from school until 48 hours from last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

If your child has a temperature, a cough or a loss or change in taste or smell a PCR test is required and isolation until the results come through. See NI Direct for full details with regards to Covid-19.

Visit www.publichealth.hscni.net or www.gov.uk/government/organisations/Public-health-england if you
would like any further advice or information, including the latest guidance. Children with rashes should
be considered infectious and assessed by their doctor.
